Aaron Stinski, Head Instructor

Aaron Stinski began his training under Head Master Lloyd Holden at the American Kyuki-Do Federation (AKF) Martial Arts Academy of Janesville, Wisconsin in 1990. Aaron opened the doors of Edgerton Family Martial Arts in the spring of 2011 and is excited to bring training and education in the martial arts to his hometown!

Mr. Stinski earned his First Degree Black Belt in 1993 and became an assistant instructor at the AKF Martial Arts Academy of Janesville. He tested for his Second Degree in 1997 and currently holds the rank of Third Degree Black Belt in Kyuki-Do. He had the privilege of being named an AKF Assistant Instructor of the Year in 1993, and has held Grand Champion titles with AKF in 1993 and 1997.

Mr. Stinski continues to train in Kyuki-Do, and has a passion for both Juijitsu and Judo. In addition, he has trained in other martial arts disciplines including Philippine stick and knife fighting; Jeet Kune Do; Muay Thai kickboxing; and Japanese Budo/Bushido Karate.

Mr. Stinski believes that hard work in the Dojang, both physical and psychological, is of enormous benefit for all practitioners which directly translates to a better quality of life in all facets.

Rick Olstad
Principal Judo Instructor

Sensei Olstad is an Edgerton native, graduating from Edgerton High in 1973. He has been active in Judo for over 40 years and he was recently inducted into to the Wisconsin Judo Hall of Fame.

Rick Helmeid
Principal Kendo Instructor

Rick began his training under the late Prof. Minoru Kiyota (Professor Emeritus, Buddhist Studies Program) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Rick was a founding member of the UW-Madison Kendo Club in 1989. The UW-Madison Kendo Club evolved into a 2 credit Kendo class at the University and Rick was an assistant instructor in both the accredited Kendo class and the UW Kendo Club from 1990 through 2010. Rick has attended numerous Kendo training camps and seminars, and has competed in Kendo tournaments at the Regional and National levels.
